1915 Çanakkale Bridge: Yunex Traffic equips the world’s largest suspension bridge with the latest electrics and electromechanics

It is one of Turkey’s infrastructural megaprojects and the longest suspension bridge in the world: the 1915 Çanakkale Bridge. The giant with a total length of 4608 meters, a height of 318 meters with two towers and a main span of 2023 meters is the first bridge in the Dardanelles Strait connecting the two continents of Asia and Europe. It was opened to traffic in March 2022.

Most advance equipment for safe and comfortable ride

We at Yunex Traffic has equipped the 1915 Çanakkale Bridge with the most advanced electrical and electromechanical systems to provide a safe and comfortable ride for all road users on the three-lane bridge.

These systems include:

  • Power supply and distribution (medium and low voltage)
  • Security systems (access control system and passive network system)
  • Fire detection system
  • Marine navigation system
  • Aviation lightning system
  • Dehumidification System
  • Lighting System (road lighting and internal lighting)
  • Fire Protection System (gaseous extinguishing system and fire hydrant system)

Successful completion despite difficult conditions

External circumstances such as the covid pandemic and harsh weather conditions made this project a challenge for everyone involved. Nevertheless, thanks to the in-depth knowledge, extensive experience from previous bridge projects, and professional engineering and project management from previous mega projects, all work was completed successfully and on time.

Yunex Traffic in Turkey has thus completed another important milestone on their mission to unite what’s next in traffic. You can already look forward to the next one.
