Interfaces and Standards
Yutraffic control centers from Yunex Traffic ensure smooth data flow and fail-free communication, whether between heterogeneous systems or when field devices from different suppliers are connected – because our outstations and instations offer maximum integration capabilities.

Outstations and Instations
Interfaces and standards for your traffic management
Seamless data exchange in urban traffic engineering requires full compliance with the relevant standards. Interfaces and standards from Yunex Traffic offer tailor-made solutions for your traffic management facilities. Outstations ensure smooth communication between field devices; instations enable communication between different control centers.

Outstations – for communication with the field devices
(Open Communication Interface for Traffic) is an open standard for road traffic control systems. Yunex Traffic is actively involved in the OCIT initiative. All Yutraffic control center systems and controllers support this open standard.
The VDV standard is used by public transport vehicles to sign on and off at intersections in the scope of PT prioritization schemes. This standard allows wireless communication between the vehicle and the intersection controller. The data are used to give priority to public transport.
The TLS communication standard describes the technical terms for the supply of outstations, especially for use on interurban highways. The TLS interface can also serve to supply urban traffic control systems with traffic information and data on current VMS contents and environmental conditions.
Instations – for communication between control centers
OCPI is a comprehensive interface that allows fast and cost-efficient integration of other systems. In addition, interface converters enable communication via other standards such as WanCom, TLS, DAV, DATEX II, VDV etc.
These interfaces cover virtually all interface applications within traffic management systems. The standardized interfaces OCIT-C for communication between components and systems at the control center replace the previous interface generation, i.e. OCIT-I process data and OCIT-I supply data.
TMC is a standard for the transmission of location-specific, digital traffic reports. Our control centers can receive and generate, edit and forward digitalized traffic reports in the TMC format.
DATEX II is a European standardization initiative for different applications in the area of traffic data and traffic information. The Yunex Traffic center supports communication via this standard, in line with project requirements.

Profit from the many advantages of a future-proof technology
The Yutraffic Canto communication system offers an advanced communication technology currently available for traffic control applications. Canto stands for “Communication in advanced new technology in outstations”. The system allows you to continue using your existing traffic controllers, while providing the basis for the use of modern technologies such as DSL, OTN, fiber optics etc.
Yutraffic Canto. Feature highlights:
- High-performance process for the transmission of traffic data (Communication in advanced new technology in outstations)
- Supports cutting-edge communication media such as fiber optics and DSL
- Standardized IP network planning
- Secure data transmission thanks to VPN tunnel and PKI encryption both in the controller and the control center
Guarantee a smooth data exchange
The Yunex traffic interfaces and standards ensure maximum integration capability. In this way you ensure a smooth exchange of data between field devices or control centers.
