Yutraffic Symphony is based on state-of-the-art technology such as microservices and the cloud to offer cities the applications needed to make mobility safe, efficient, and sustainable. All Yutraffic Symphony solutions come with a set of Core Applications to ensure system usability security. Choose from a wide range of optional applications to create standard and individual use cases in the field of traffic management and beyond.​

The Action Center is used to notify operators of critical situations or to request operators to make a decision. The Action Center can, for example, be used to alert the operator to newly detected incidents. Response plans can also send notifications to operators and allow them to choose between options directly from the notification.

Every system includes a map that shows ITS devices, traffic data, parking facilities, public transportation lines, incidents, and more. Additional map layers from 3rd party sources can be added to increase the amount of data available to operators. The GIS Map also serves as the central access point for visualizing traffic conditions and operating ITS devices, helping operators increase their situational awareness and reduce their workflow times.

The Symphony Application Frame acts as a higher-level user interface for all microservices and provides primary (1st level) and secondary (2nd level) navigation. All Yutraffic Symphony modules and other third-party web applications can be accessed directly via this interface.

With YuBike, you give the green light to a modern, clean, and bike-friendly city. An intuitive smartphone app gives cyclists priority at traffic lights. The app shows where there are green lights along the planned route and also provides information on bike sharing options and secure parking facilities.

The Connected Vehicles module activates the GPS-based Stream prioritization. It enables for example the prioritized control of public transport vehicles, in real time. In addition, all vehicles are displayed on the GIS map and continuously monitored. This allows to keep track of their position, status, and movements at all times – for maximum transparency and efficient coordination.​

Green Wave Visualizations show the signaling states of individual signals, including coordinated green phases (green waves). With these visualizations and the archived data, operators can quickly check coordination status and perform more detailed analysis if required.

Our Intersection Visualization module makes traffic control more intuitive by displaying signal status and operational data directly on maps or background images. It combines real time and historical information with street geometry, helping you identify conflicts quickly and manage intersections with confidence.

The Emergency Vehicle / VIP Route Control function activates time-controlled prioritization of vehicles. This allows emergency vehicles such as fire trucks, ambulances, or police cars to be given priority on defined routes. The system ensures optimized traffic management, reduces delays, and supports fast and safe arrival at the scene.​

Our Signal Time Plan Visualization module provides second-by-second insight into signal operations, displaying signal status, detector data, and coordination details in clear, configurable charts. It supports flexible design, integration with simulation tools, and playback of historical data, enabling precise analysis and export in multiple formats.

Control and manage traffic signals using standard interfaces, such as OCIT, CANTO and NTCIP. Signal plans and operational modes can be changed manually by the operator or automatically by response plans which consider a wide range of data, ranging from air quality to Bluetooth detector counts.

The Traffic Signal Quality Management module monitors traffic signal switching states and parameters such as waiting times for pedestrian or vehicles upon green requests, as well as travel times of public transport vehicles. Values exceeding preset thresholds indicate a drop in the quality of a traffic signal system. This module makes it possible to carry out detailed quality analyses and initiate targeted improvement measures.

Intelligent urban mobility management allows you to ensure mobility both for today and for tomorrow, and it will enable you to efficiently manage growing traffic volumes and environmental impact.

The Analytics & Statistics module enables you to design and automatically generate reports on a wide range of data, from traffic volume and speed to parking occupancy. Reports can include tables, charts, and trend lines, and are available in multiple formats such as PDF and CSV. With options for short-term, long-term, and custom reports, Yutraffic Symphony provides the insights you need for informed decision-making.

The CCTV application is used to control, monitor, and manage CCTV cameras. An intuitive user interface design allows operators to navigate between, view, and operate multiple CCTV cameras efficiently using workflows optimized for high-stress situations, such as during incident management.

Yutraffic Symphony ensures smooth data flow and fail-free communication, whether between heterogeneous systems or when field devices from different suppliers are connected – because our outstations and instations offer maximum integration capabilities for all mobility platforms.

The Environmental Sensor application enables the integration of weather and environmental sensors as well as full RWIS (Roadside Weather Information System) installations. Measurement data can be visualized on the map or used to trigger response plans in response to severe weather or environmental conditions.​

Operators can use the Incident Management application to manage collisions, roadworks, or events. They can also track first responders and distribute incident information using SMS, e-mail, and social media posts. The Incident Management module also supports V2X functionalities natively, allowing operators to forward in-vehicle warnings directly and automatically from the incident management application.

This module enables the Level of Service (LOS) to be displayed directly on the GIS Map. Travel times are also integrated, based on floating car data (FCD) or other connected systems. This gives you a transparent overview of the current traffic situation, allowing you to identify bottlenecks early on and manage them in a targeted manner.​

The Parking Management module helps you quickly assess parking conditions and integrate data from standard interfaces or collection devices into traffic management. Individual categories such as EV, disabled, or women’s parking can be configured, while dashboards provide a clear overview of occupancy across facilities. Data can be exported or shared with external systems and displayed on parking signs or variable message signs, ensuring drivers receive accurate, up-to-date information.​

The simulation-based evaluation function allows action plans to be evaluated in real time. The module simulates various traffic management scenarios and provides operators with a sound basis for decision-making. This allows measures to be tested before implementation, risks to be minimized, and traffic flow efficiency to be increased.​

The RSU Management application allows the system to communicate with and manage roadside units (RSU). This enables, for example, the incident management application to forward incident information as V2X messages for in-vehicle displays, such as DENMs (Decentralized Environmental Notification Messages) and TIMs (Traveler Information Messages). It also manages forwarding of IVIMs (Infrastructure to Vehicle Information Messages) and allows using RSUs as virtual detectors through collection of traffic data for further use in response plans, reporting, and traffic control.

Schematic Views is the corridor management module that simplifies coordinated ITS operations involving a high number of ITS devices. Especially useful in active traffic management scenarios, the Schematic Views module shows detailed device operational states, including signs, detectors and gates, on top of a simplified diagram representing the roadway geometry. If lane control signs are involved, sign operations can take advantage of built-in and configurable logic to automatically determine the most suitable lane-use display to save operators’ time.​

The Sign Control application is used to control, monitor, and manage a range of signs ranging from prism signs to full-matrix full-color LED displays. This application provides optimized workflows that allow operators to activate signs quickly in the event of an incident or schedule sign group displays in preparation for large stadium events.

The Simulation Based Forecasting application allows the system to forecast traffic conditions and environmental and weather data in the near future. Operators continuously receive forecasts for the next 15, 30, 45 and 60 minutes and can visualize these forecasts both on the map and as detailed information in individual roadway segments or sensors. This can be done either by simulation, from external sources via interface, or using standard algorithms in Yutraffic Symphony.​

The Smart Notifications module provides the maintenance personnel for field devices with a flexibly ​adaptable notification function for faults and events and continuously evaluates live device data for ​this purpose.​ Smart Notifications can be sent audibly and visually via the Action Center, or optionally via email or SMS.

Strategy Management empowers operators to execute complex workflows automatically or manually with a single click. Triggers can be defined using Yutraffic Symphony’s built-in data and logical operators, such as traffic conditions, travel times, parking occupancy, air quality, and device status, to control signs and signals. Multiple actions can be combined into one response plan and executed automatically, saving time and reducing errors. Integrated notifications through the Action Center ensure operators can act quickly and efficiently without switching interfaces.​

The Traffic Detection function enables the integration of detectors into Yutraffic Symphony and activates measurement value processing. This allows traffic data such as vehicle count, speed, and utilization to be accurately recorded and processed. This information forms the basis for intelligent control strategies and efficient traffic flow optimization.​

Yutraffic Symphony allows the integration of third-party applications. Either as seamless integration in line with the Yutraffic Symphony style guide or simply via standardized interfaces for maximum flexibility.​

Exploiting Data & Digitalization in Mobility Management with Yunex Traffic

Yutraffic Symphony ensures smooth data flow and fail-free communication, whether between heterogeneous systems or when field devices from different suppliers are connected – because our outstations and instations offer maximum integration capabilities for all mobility platforms.

A high-performance process enables the secure transmission of traffic data using advanced communication technologies like fiber optics and DSL. It features standardized IP network planning and ensures data protection through VPN tunnels and PKI encryption at both the controller and control center levels.

Open Communication Interface for Traffic is an open standard for road traffic control systems, defined by the OCIT Developer Group (ODG). Yunex Traffic is actively involved in the OCIT initiative. All Yutraffic control center systems and controllers support this open standard.​

Yutraffic Symphony also supports the OCIT-C interface, defined by the OCIT Developer Group (ODG), enabling standardized data exchange between different traffic control centers. Yunex Traffic is a member of the ODG​.

OCPI is a comprehensive interface that allows fast and cost-efficient integration of other systems. In addition, interface converters enable communication via other standards such as WanCom, TLS, DAV, DATEX II, VDV etc.

DATEX II is a European standardization initiative for different applications in the area of traffic data and traffic information. The Yunex Traffic center supports communication via this standard, in line with project requirements.

The TLS communication standard describes the technical terms for the supply of outstations, especially for use on interurban highways. The TLS interface can also serve to supply urban traffic control systems with traffic information and data on current VMS contents and environmental conditions.

Yutraffic Symphony supports VDV public transport interfaces, enabling real-time data exchange for connection assurance and dynamic passenger information. This data can be seamlessly integrated into strategy management, allowing for optimized route planning and improved service reliability.

Yutraffic Symphony supports MQTT, a state-of-the-art messaging protocol widely used in IoT and modern traffic systems. This open standard ensures seamless, lightweight, and secure communication between devices and applications, enabling flexible integration and scalability for future requirements.​

With Yutraffic Symphony’s RESTful API, integrating external systems becomes straightforward and efficient. The API provides standardized, resource-oriented access to Symphony data and functions, allowing developers to build custom applications and workflows with ease while maintaining high security and interoperability.
