Hi Venkatesh! Thanks for speaking with us. We’d love to hear more about your role and what you do.

I’m Head of Project and Bid Management at Yunex Traffic, US. My role is divided into two categories; Bid Management where I am involved in leading our Bid team in the creation of bids and proposals for ITS Solutions portfolio. And Project Management, where I lead our Project teams and direct subject matter experts to execute customer projects and achieve project targets. As a team, we work hard to ensure we meet our customer’s needs and requirements – delivering the project on time, within budget and to the highest quality. Once live, working, and stable, our projects make a positive difference to those who work, travel, and live in our US cities.

How long have you been with #TeamYunexTraffic?

I have worked for Yunex Traffic since September 2019. So, it will be four years for me in a couple of months’ time!

What excites you about your role?

The best part of my role is that each day at work is unique.

There are days where I get to work together with the team on a variety of different complex projects and solutions, which are often a unique combination of both our innovative products and systems. Also, seeing these projects and solutions from inception to implementation in real time and seeing how they are making a difference in the life of people living in our communities brings a special feeling and sense of excitement.

I like that my role allows me to work closely with different departments such as Research & Development, Systems, Engineering, Sales, Finance, Supply Chain, Field Operations etc., and people located in our organization worldwide.

As a project team, we collectively work towards improving mobility and making our roads safer, more efficient, and more sustainable through our future proof infrastructure and solutions. I love that the work we do every day makes a difference to people’s lives.

Are there any challenges within your role?

There are always challenges within every role. For us in Bid Management, there are weeks where our team is working on the creation of 3-4 Bids and Proposals simultaneously with similar deadlines. So, it’s imperative that as a team we communicate and prioritize our work to ensure that we can create a quality proposal for delivery. On the other hand, in Project Management we have the responsibility of the full P&L (profit and loss) which is a critical KPI for our business. Also, continuing to build and maintain our customer relationships and ensure we manage and meet expectations is another challenge, but also an exciting opportunity, that comes with every project.

If you could name, just one project that you loved working on at Yunex Traffic so far – what would this be?

Smart Columbus Connected Vehicle Deployment back in 2019. This was the first project assigned to me when I was hired at Yunex Traffic. I loved working on this project because I never had the prior experience working in the Connected Vehicle Space. There was lot of learning and collaborating! However, the biggest challenge around this time was COVID 19. We as a team had to overcome the challenges this presented to deliver the project on time, within budget, and to meet our customer’s needs.

If you could say anything to a person considering a business role at Yunex Traffic – what advice would you give?

At Yunex Traffic, you will get opportunities to work in different areas. Every day is different and there will be never a time when you won’t be challenged to grow professionally and personally.
