Yunex Traffic has a strong and growing presence in Australia and continues to expand as we bring our experience and proven solutions to our clients. Since establishing our first Australian locations in Sydney, we now have an additional warehouse and depot in Melbourne, a location in Brisbane, and projects in Tasmania and South Australia.
Western Harbour Tunnel Sydney
Yunex Traffic is delivering Yutraffic Varia as the integrated traffic management system for Sydney’s Western Harbour Tunnel project.
This system aims to enhance traffic flow and safety by integrating advanced technology to monitor and manage vehicle movements effectively.
The initiative is part of a broader effort to improve infrastructure in Sydney, ensuring that the tunnel operates efficiently while minimizing congestion and environmental impact.
In collaboration with Acciona and Transport for NSW it aims to underscore the importance of smart technology in modern transportation projects.
Sydney Roads Asset Performance
We are proud to be the Traffic Signal Maintenance contractor for the Parks and River Zone area in the Sydney Roads Asset Performance (SRAP) Contract. Covering 750 traffic signal intersections and over 900 powered signs, the SRAP contract is a solid foundation for building local relationships and shaping the industry, while ensuring the safety and efficiency of the assets on Sydney’s road network.

ATC, short for Aldridge Traffic Controllers, is Australia’s leading developer and manufacturer of SCATS® VC6.2 & V2X ready traffic signal controllers and a provider of comprehensive traffic management solutions. In addition to being an authorised global distributor of the SCATS® adaptive urban traffic control system.
Major Projects
Our Tolling & Infrastructure Solutions portfolio is growing globally and Australia is no exception. Alongside the Western Harbour Tunnel project, Yunex Traffic and ATC are supplying and delivering a mixture of ITS Cabinets, UPS and Distribution Boards for the Sydney M12 Motorway and the New Bridgewater Bridge in Tasmania.

Roadside Units
At the forefront of traffic technology, we have a suite of connected vehicle solutions to drive innovation and collaboration for all road users.
We are proud to offer the Smart detection system Yutraffic awareAI with edge computing power and full intersection capabilities. The solution is based on a local roadside AI-enabled system that operates a highly advanced deep learning video analytics software that can detect, classify and continuously track new road users, such as e-scooters, with multiple cameras. The result is the ability to achieve optimised traffic flow, increased road user safety – especially for vulnerable road users – and enhanced autonomous driving.
The AIMES Trial in Victoria is the real-world proving ground for new technology where Yunex Traffic is supplying and testing 15 Roadside Units (RSUs) with ATC Controllers and SCATS, for testing the future V2X capable adaptive signal control systems.

Yunex Traffic, ATC and Aimsun are members of ITS Australia and ITS New Zealand, also with representation on the ITS Australia Next Gens committee which connects and supports young professionals in ITS. We actively support the Australian Integrated Multimodal EcoSystem (AIMES) which is a world-first living laboratory based on the streets of Melbourne, established to test highly integrated transport technology with a goal to deliver safer, cleaner and more sustainable urban transport outcomes.
