SPINE

Duration: 2023 – 2026

SPINE aims to accelerate the journey towards climate neutrality and foster the transition to more inclusive, accessible, resilient, and sustainable Public Transportation (PT) services. By reinforcing PT systems through smart integration with new mobility services, connected and automated mobility, sharing schemes, active transport modes, and micromobility, SPINE is paving the way for a greener future. Eleven living labs are provided with different solutions, among which Yunex Traffic is assisting three leading and three twinning cities in analyzing current PT patterns along selected corridors and providing suggestions for improvement. The parking areas of four living lab cities are equipped with monitoring sensors for which Yunex Traffic is delivering parking analytics to enhance urban mobility.

GEMINI

Duration: 2023 – 2026

GEMINI’s vision is to accelerate the progress towards climate neutrality by reinforcing a modal shift through the demonstration and uptake of new shared mobility services, active transport modes, and micromobility and their integration with public transport in new generation MaaS services. GEMINI will contribute to inclusive, safe, resilient transport and smart mobility services for passengers and goods. Yunex Traffic will deliver a traffic management system to provide a frontend system to the operator of Allianz Arena. This system consists of a map and incident management to observe the traffic situation regarding current and future traffic level of service and to plan traffic management measures around the Allianz Arena, e.g., closures of parking garages, or detecting of incidents.

SYNCHROMODE

Duration: 2023 – 2026

European transport faces challenges like traffic congestion, safety issues, and greenhouse gas emissions. The SYNCHROMODE project aims to develop ICT tools to improve multimodal transport management. It will provide predictive and optimization capabilities for balancing supply and demand and reacting to events. The project will focus on modeling, simulation, optimization, data standards, governance models, and KPIs. SYNCHROMODE will offer services like data exchange, real-time monitoring, and resilient traffic management. It will be tested in Thessaloniki, Province of South Holland, and Madrid with real data from various transport modes and events. Yunex Traffic will lead and help in coordinating the integration of the different system components.  Yunex Traffic will take advantage of its position as a major international industry player and its network to promote and disseminate project results. At the same time, the team will bring valuable experience to the definition of the exploitation strategy and provide input on future-oriented business models. This work will be preceded by a thorough review and definition of user needs and system requirements, as well as of new governance and business models defined at the start of the project.

gaia-x ROMS

GAIA-X

Duration: 2021 – 2024

GAIA-X 4 ROMS (Support and Remote Operation of Automated and Connected Mobility Services) lays the necessary foundations for integrating innovative vehicles into the overall system and enables the secure exchange of data. Yunex Traffic has taken on the role of traffic management and are creating a data and service ecosystem to coordinate and manage automated and connected vehicles in critical or unpredictable situations. In doing so, the design principles of GAIA-X as well as corresponding standards and technologies are always considered.

SENDER

Duration: 2023 – 2025

The SENDER project is dedicated to developing a system that uses advanced artificial intelligence, including deep neural networks and sophisticated algorithms, to enable real-time monitoring and control of urban transportation hubs. Key features include intelligent tools for enhancing efficiency and safety, minimizing installation costs for system deployment, and modern smart transport features designed to alert drivers to potential hazards. By integrating these advanced capabilities, the project aims to bring substantial improvements to urban mobility systems, addressing contemporary demands for safety and efficiency in transport.

PREDITECH

Duration: 2023 – 2025

The PREDITECH project focuses on the analysis, design, testing, and validation of predictive diagnostics for intelligent transportation systems (ITS) using advanced AI methodologies. It addresses the operational and maintenance needs of transport and technological infrastructure administrators, aiming to optimize processes that significantly impact budgets. By implementing maintenance precisely when needed, the project seeks to reduce costs while enhancing efficiency.

The outcome will be a stand-alone software solution incorporating IoT protocols aligned with standardized interfaces. The predictive diagnostics framework will integrate emerging trends, including cybersecurity and system reliability. The primary users are expected to be administrators of technological systems such as tunnels and traffic control infrastructure. Additionally, the knowledge gained from the project can be applied to other technical domains, broadening its impact.

ADUTRA

Duration: 2025 – 2026

The ADUTRA project aims to enhance urban traffic management through adaptive artificial intelligence, optimizing traffic flow and improving the overall efficiency of intersections. By leveraging real-time data from intersection controllers, including detectors and other input parameters, the system enables an adaptive AI module to predict signal status and provide accurate insights into upcoming traffic scenarios.

This solution supports smoother traffic flow, reduces travel times, and improves safety by accurately forecasting traffic demand and increasing road user awareness. It also serves as a foundational step toward integrating innovative technologies into the urban transport system, contributing to its modernization and overall effectiveness.

This project is supported by the SIGMA program, which promotes the involvement of young researchers in innovative projects.

TransUrban

Duration: 2025 – 2027

The TransUrban project focuses on advancing sustainable urban mobility through the integration of cutting-edge tools and technologies. By leveraging simulations, traffic engineering data, and innovative approaches to traffic light control (TLC) management, the project aims to optimize urban traffic systems. Key features include incorporating data on emissions, vehicle energy balances, and real-time information from in-vehicle systems to enhance traffic management strategies.

The project also involves the development of software to optimize traffic mobility management, addressing the needs of all road users. This software combines advanced simulation technologies and artificial intelligence supported real-time adaptive traffic control. Its effectiveness will be demonstrated through implementation and field testing at a selected location under predefined scenarios. Furthermore, the project will provide actionable recommendations for other cities, enabling the adoption of more efficient urban mobility practices.

This initiative represents a significant step toward creating smarter, more sustainable urban transport systems while delivering practical solutions that can be replicated in diverse urban environments.

This project is carried out as part of the bilateral cooperation program between the Czech Republic and the German state of Saxony.
